There are so many ways to give back to Jefferson, but if you are a male role model in a student’s life, you are eligible to become one of our Watch DOGS (Dads of Great Students). Since its introduction at Jefferson, our Watch DOGS program has had numerous volunteers spend a day to half a day on campus. The volunteer “dads” have been adult brothers, uncles, grandfathers, step fathers, but are most often fathers of students and enjoy actively engaging in the day-to-day activities of the students. While watch DOGS are a positive male role model on campus and create a safer environment, many of the dads point to spending one on one time with the younger children who are struggling in the classroom as the most rewarding part of their day. After seeing the success of the time spent on campus, many Watch DOGS re-volunteer for another day in the same school year. Would you like to volunteer a day or half a day on the Jefferson campus as a Watch DOGS Dad? Just call or email Melissa Brown at
