Wow!  That's all we can say!  What a great job our Jefferson Joggers did!  We're so very proud of them, and we thank you, parents, for all your support of Jefferson Joggers!  It was so much fun to watch the kids run into the safety corral with their medals on....they were just awesome!

 

A special thank you, too, to the parent volunteers who helped us out today...Kristen Hodge, Karyn Wortsmith, and Kristin and Greg Trulock.  The Trulocks got "stolen" from our volunteer corps and put to work by the marathon organizers...matching kids up with parents.  It was a VERY tough spot (and one we did not expect any of our parents to do), but as always, our Jefferson parents rose to the occasion and helped out.  So, a special shout out to Greg and Kristin...

 

It has been a joy to watch these kids train and listen to them talk about and get excited about the Little Rockers Marathon.  It is our greatest wish that little moments like our kids had today will encourage fitness, fun and help them to establish a healthy lifestyle.  So, keep runnin!!!

 

PreK, Kindergarten and those under age 7:  Honestly, it felt a little strange out there today without y'all.  So many of the younger kids have been pariticpating in the after school training, and we missed their little faces today!  On Wednesday, March 10th, we'll have a final mile ceremony at Jefferson at 5:30 p.m.  Please have your Jogger out back, ready to hit the track and run their last mile.  We'll make it fun for these younger ones as they have really worked hard to get their 25 miles completed!  Let me know if you have any questions!

 

Also, we are setting up a team for the Dino Dash this year.  Dino Dash is a family walk/run that benefits the Museum of Discovery.  I'll send more out about it in the next week, but Jefferson has been chosen for a kickoff, media event.  Leah Thorvilsen, who won the Little Rock Marathon (women's division) last year and is currently training for the Olympic trials, will be there!  How cool is that!?  The kickoff is Friday, March 19th at 2:00.  Please hang on to your Jefferson Jogger tee shirt as we want as MANY of our kids as possible to participate in the race AND in the kickoff!
