Message from the President
Labor Day Weekend: That magical weekend that marks the transition from summer to fall. Although we will still be experiencing “summertime weather” for awhile – the glories of autumn activities await us -- football season, Harvest festivals and apple picking.
At Jefferson, our season begins with the conclusion of our Sally Foster fundraising campaign – all orders and/or packets are due on Tuesday, Sept 7th. We will need volunteers to help on “counting day” – please contact Kelly Pace (

) if you can help. We have our Accelerated Reader kick-off scheduled for Friday, Sept 10th – a great way for our children to get excited about reading! Don’t forget about our Jefferson Open House on Tuesday, September 14th – come visit your children’s classrooms, marvel at all they’ve accomplished in the first few weeks of school, and thank their teachers for all that they do.
Also, we will have our September PTA meeting on September 23 at 6pm. We’ve had to tweak the time of our meeting to accommodate other school employees and the necessity for the school to be closed and locked by a certain time. Please join us – we need your ideas and opinions.
Finally, please support the school’s garage sale benefiting 4th grade student, Elijah Talley. Donations will be accepted all week (9/7-10) with the sale on Saturday, September 11th at 6:45am! All proceeds go directly to the Talley family to help offset the expenses of Elijah’s cancer treatment. We are a neighborhood school, and as neighbors, we help one another, especially in times of need. Contact Kristin Trulock (
