Jefferson Elementary School provides a warm, nurturing learning environment for Pre-Kindergarten through fifth grade students. Jefferson is located in a cozy community setting; right next door to the Cammack Village Police Department. Our staff teaches from a curriculum based on the latest education models in combination with the basic "three Rs". Students have access to K-2 enrichment, a gifted program (3rd - 5th), classroom computers, a spacious media center with a mini-lab and many books, full time music and art programs, speech and resource assistance and a licensed professional counselor. Jefferson also offers the STARS Tutoring Program for K-2 reading and a computer-based Accelerated Reading program.

67% of the staff has Master's Degrees with an average of 16 years teaching experience. Our K-4 classroom teachers have received K-4 Crusades training to strengthen teaching skills in math, science and reading. Eight teachers have received National Board Certification
Jefferson Elementary was a runner-up to Central High in the "Best of Central Arkansas" survey for public schools. Jefferson was designated as a "Blue Ribbon School" by the Arkansas Department of Education, and received the "Elementary School Award of Excellence." Jefferson Elementary is the only school in Arkansas to win the state "Outstanding PTA Award" for two consecutive years - 1999 and 2000. Jefferson PTA has won because of their efforts in recruiting and parental involvement.
